The UltraMedia Team
Introducing your UltraMedia team. We are a cohesive group with a shared commitment to providing the best home technology solutions possible.
Pat Johnson, President, began is career in home audio/video in 1992 while flying for American Eagle. Designing state-of-the-art home technology and entertaiment systems is his passion. Pat is trained in many different technologies, and has a talent for overcoming compatibility issues that custom installers face. Pat's hobbies are video games and hunting—he's a life member of the Dallas Safari Club, and serves on the board of Dallas Woods and Waters. Pat received his bachelors of science in technology from Southwest Texas State University, and is a CEDIA-Certified Professional Designer.
Pat Murray, Technician and Programmer, is a CEDIA Level II Certified Professional Installer, and has been in the industry since 1990. He is our lead programmer, and has attended the prestigious Sumiko Masters Training in Berkeley, CA. This letter says it all: “We wanted to thank you for the incredible service we received from Pat Murray on our newly renovated home. Pat is truly an asset to your company, a “one-of-a-kind,” extremely hard working, diligent man! He knows his stuff!
What makes Pat so very special is his caring and warm personality. Our family
always looked forward to Pat coming to our home, and were very sad when the
project was finished. Pat should be commended for his loyalty to his company
and his clients. Pat would phone from home to check on our system, and worked
on many of his days off. Not only was Pat a great technician, he was a trustworthy
person that I would open my home to any time. Pat takes pride in his work,
and I would highly recommend him to any of my friends. Thank you very much!” In
his free time, Pat and his wife enjoy his Harley.
Brent Thomas, Technician, has been in the home audio/video industry since
1996. Brent is a CEDIA
Level I Certified Professional Installer, and a Registered
Outreach Instructor. He loves the “cool sights and sounds of the
audio video world,” and gets a lot of satisfaction at the completion of each high-end home theater installation. Between the
great clients and the strong team at UltraMedia, Brent says that he
works with friends all day. Before becoming a world-traveled (semi-retired)
stand-up comic, Brent received his bachelor’s degree from
Southwest Texas State University in business. Brent also enjoys mountain biking.
Mike
Brock, Systems Designer, has been an “AV guy” since
1981. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from The
University of Texas at Dallas. Nothing pleases him more than a properly designed
and calibrated home cinema system. Like others in the field, ever-changing home entertainment technology and compatibilities are
his greatest challenges—but challenges he enjoys. His favorite publications
are CE Pro, Stereophile,
and Residential Systems. “This
business has allowed me to travel and meet
some very interesting and talented people.” He attended the prestigious
Sumiko Masters Training in Berkeley, CA. He appreciates the great
attitudes of the people he works with at UltraMedia. When he’s not
working, he enjoys live concerts, playing golf and camping with his wife and two dogs.
Mark
Gostomski, Operations Manager, began his custom home audio/video
career in 1996. He’s witnessed innumerable advances
in the home technology industry since then. Mark’s passion for music composition and audio engineering
led him to this career, which he cites as “bringing home the passion
of artistic entertainment—literally.” Mark studied at
the University of North Texas, and
has extensive training in the design and installation of advanced technologies
such as Crestron System Design and Lighting Control, Lutron Lighting Control,
RTI Control Systems, and Elan Home Systems.
Matt
Wassmer, Technician and Programmer, began his audio/video career
in 1999, after serving our country as a communications chief in the U.S.
Army. His military experience laid a solid foundation for his eventual transition
to residential and commercial technology design and installation. Having
owned an A/V company for several years, Matt is familiar with all aspects
of running a custom installation business. He enjoys turning the home technology
dreams of our clients into reality. Most challenging? Keeping up with the
daily changes in technology. When he’s not reading Stereophile magazine, he enjoys bowling, water sports, and playing soccer and poker. “I believe
in doing the hard right, instead of the easy wrong.” Indeed, he belongs
on our team.
Luke Dixon, Systems Designer, began his audio/video career in 2000, and has developed and maintained strong business relationships with many home builders and interior designers in the Dallas area. His portfolio includes numerous projects for high-profile sports figures across the Metroplex. Most recently, Luke has concentrated on projects in the healthcare industry, including designing audio and video systems for nursing homes. Luke holds certifications in RTI, Lutron Radio Ra, and Pro Control, and has extensive training in many other areas of home and commercial technology. What does he love about AV? “Overcoming the challenges of designing a system loaded with today’s greatest technologies and making it easy for our clients to use.” And, of course, “The ear-to-ear smile on a client’s face after demonstrating a completed system.” Luke’s commitment to the well-being and protection of others is demonstrated by his concurrent career as a firefighter and paramedic (he’s a certified firefighter (since 2004), paramedic (since 2008), and wild-land firefighter). With his strong leadership skills and commitment to teamwork, Luke is a valuable asset to UltraMedia. Favorite AV publications are Residential Systems, Home Media Magazine, and Home Theater Review. Luke enjoys spending his free time with his wife and children, mountain biking, and diesel performance truck racing.
Valerie

photography from East Texas State University. She spent ten years in EDS’s corporate
communications, and later joined Pat at UltraMedia. She provides clerical
support for UltraMedia, and is an armchair advocate for the Chronic Fatigue
Immune Dysfunction Syndrome Association of America.
